Charles E. Wamsley, 81, of Dayton passed away on August 21, 2017 at Mount Pleasant Assisted Living Facility in Monroe, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents Edmund & Mary Wamsley, Aunt Bernardine Streuber, and infant brother Joseph Wamsley. Charles is survived by Judy Suddarth, mother of his daughters, Mary Ann (Michael) Stemley and Christine (Bob) Elson, grandchildren Christopher Stemley (Danielle Collins), Cassandra (Ken) Kowalski, & Abrielle Elson, great-grandchildren Destiny & Carter Collins, Kristine, Elizabeth, & Annamarie Kowalski, and his brother Steve (Donna) Wamsley. Charles graduated from the University of Dayton in 1958 and taught art for the Dayton City Schools for his entire career, including Hickory Dale Elementary, Gorman School for the handicapped, Dayton Art Institute, and the Living Arts Center. A public visitation will be held Friday August 25 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Baker-Hazel and Snider Funeral Home. A service will be held Saturday August 26 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Dayton Art Institute to benefit the Children’s Scholarship Fund.
