Combs, Asbery, 88, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 in Dayton, OH. Asbery was born on September 9, 1928 to Thomas and Maude Combs in Hazzard, KY
Asbery was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Lois (Piroh), son Robert, 3 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Kathy Wissinger (husband Randy) and Vicky Barber (husband John), 2 brothers (Raymond and George), 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Asbery joined the Army after high school. He met his wife, Lois, in the army and they were married in 1951. Asbery served his country outside the U.S.A. in South America. After being discharged from the army, Asbery moved to Dayton and worked at J. C. Oren & Associates more than 20 years until he started his own business, A. Combs Plastering, in which he worked until retirement.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 6, 2017 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr, Dayton, OH 45415. The Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at noon.
Pastor Stu Rammes of St. James United Methodist Church of Miamisburg, OH will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park, 8135 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH 45414. Condolences may be expressed online at http://www.bakerhazelsnider.com/.
