McWhirter, Grace Mary “Gracie” age 79 of Troy, Ohio passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born September 18, 1937 in Pittsburgh PA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth Severns. Gracie was a graduate of Robinson High School class of 1955 and Robert Morris University. She worked at AMF Leland Electro Systems, Skyways Aviation and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania. Gracie is survived by brothers James (Lindy) Severns, Fort Davis, TX., Robert (Lynn) Severns, Carnegie, PA., son Wayne (Angie), Troy, daughters Wendy (Dave) Fisher, Tipp City, Elaine (Bill) Bryant, Tipp City, 11 grandchildren Alex, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Cameron, Mary, Philip, Patrick, Leandra, Jerica, Brandon and Cody and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clyde Edwin McWhirter on September 8, 2016. Gracie had a deep love for her husband of 59 years and her family. She’ll be remembered in all of our hearts for her beautiful smile and the joy she brought to everyone she met and every life she touched. Friends and family are invited to share their special thoughts or memories of Grace during her memorial service at Hayner Cultural Center, 301 West Main Street, Troy, OH on Sunday, September 3, 2017 starting at 2pm. Gracie was happiest when spending time talking and laughing with her family. In lieu of flowers, please set aside some quality time to spend with your mother or close family members or pass along a random act of kindness in Gracie’s spirit.
