Obituary for Charles Eric Carter
CARTER, CHARLES Eric, Sr., age 78 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 1, 1938 to Nancy and Eddie Carter. He is preceded in death by his parent Eddie Carter Sr. and Nancy Jackson, 2 brothers William and Eddie Jr. Carter, sister Mary Carter, son Charles E. Carter Jr. Survived by his wife of 46 years Myrtle, daughters Cat, Naomi, Faye, Sharon, Besley, Karen, Rachelle and son Joe, 26 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren, special nephews Reginald, Cedric and Tony, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was employed by Ohio Metals and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Charles was a hero to his family and friends. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church 111 W. Monument Ave. Dayton, OH by Rev. Timothy Forbess and Rev. Jason Alspaugh. Interment West Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 1101 Salem Ave Dayton, OH 45416. On-line condolences for the family may be sent to www.bakerhazelsnider.com.
