YOCUM, Violet, age 89 of Dayton, OH, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010. Violet was born June 25, 1920 in Omaha, Nebraska, daughter of the late Barney and Rose (Yablonsky) Kalasky. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Violet was an avid fan of NCIS, crossword puzzles and word jumbles.

Mrs. Yocum is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon Galbreath and Sandra Yocum; 4 grandchildren, Robin (Amber Pardue) MacRorie, Jennifer (Alejandro) Florez, Matt (Michelle) Mize and Chris (Sarah) Mize; great-grandson, Miguel Florez; many other loving family members and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Yocum; sister, Julia; 4 brothers, Barney, Harry, Richie and Rusty Kalasky.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 224 Squirrel Rd. at Forest and Homewood Ave., Dayton, OH 45405, Fr. Del Staigers celebrant. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home & Crematory, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, in Violet’s memory.
