Our Story

Rick Snider, President and Brenda Snider, Vice-President, are third generation owners of Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home and Crematory. Brenda's late grandfather, W. Eugene Baker, was the founder of the business in 1941 and her father, Neil W. Hazel, joined the firm in 1960, owning and operating the business until 2003. Rick joined the firm in 1982 after graduating from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. As well as owning and operating the business, while serving those in need, Rick and Brenda are active in their church, and volunteer for several civic and school related activities. They, along with their staff, endeavor to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.

In 2001 Mr. Snider decided to open a human crematory and later in 2007 we opened a Pet Crematory. Now we can serve the whole family.

Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home & Crematory is the only funeral home in the Dayton area to be invited to join Selected Independent Funeral Homes. In order to qualify for membership in this premier national association, a funeral home must meet very high standards and follow the "Code of Good Practice Ethics."

Building on our fine reputation for service, we strive to be a progressive funeral home and will meet your individual needs and expectations.

We can accommodate large gatherings in either of our two warm and spacious rooms. We also have a well-lighted, attended parking lot, a spacious planning center, and a state-of-the-art crematory and pet crematory.
