Obituary for John Jay "Jack" Buttermore

John Jay Buttermore II “Jack” was born on July 27th, 1945 in Massillon Ohio and died on November 16th 2018 in Dayton Ohio. Jack graduated from Central Catholic High School in Massillon in 1963 and The University of Dayton in 1967.His love of and talent for music led to the discovery of his passion for Intelligible audio design, which formed his working career.

Jack was a loving and generous man who will be sorely missed by his friends and family, especially his wife Elaine, son John, daughter-in-law Jessica and grandson Jay. His siblings include brothers Steve (Bette), Brian (Amy), David (Pamela) and sister Mary (Scott).

At Jack's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Just remember him for the fine, noble man he was. So sorry to read of this. I didn't know Jack long, or really very well, but I had a lot of good conversations with him at open mics at Canal Street Tavern, its successor Canal Public House, and the Yellow Cab Tavern. He always seemed appreciative of my songs and performances, and I always enjoyed his, with or without the band. He was just a really nice, easy-to-talk-to guy, with whom I happened to also share northeastern Ohio roots (he from Massillon, I from Canton, although about 6 years later.) My sincere sympathy and best wishes to his family. I will miss him as well.
