Obituary for Wayne Richard Locker

Wayne Richard Locker, 75, of Clayton passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13th.
Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Colonel White High School, where he was the head of the drum section of the band. Wayne was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in March of 1967, after active duty in Vietnam, fighting alongside his brothers in arms from the 1st Battalion 3rd Division (Charlie Co.). During his military career he was promoted to Sergeant and also taught repelling.
Wayne graduated from RETS Tech Center after returning from the war, to begin his career in the heating and air conditioning field. Wayne worked many years for Butler Heating and Air, before his long career at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, where he was in the Maintenance Department.
Wayne was above all, a true patriot, with love for this Country and what it stands for. He was the most devoted father any girl could ever ask for. He ALWAYS put his girls first and was happy to get to spend time with them, even if it was only for a couple of minutes. He truly cared about his brothers from Vietnam, his close friends and his family. Wayne could make you laugh, even in the darkest of times. He was naturally funny and people just wanted to know him. He lived life HIS way and for that - there are no regrets.
Wayne is preceded in death by his Mother Rosella (Charles) Locker and father Richard Locker.
He is survived by his three deeply heartbroken daughters and son in law: Melissa Locker, Jennie Caruso and Allison (Paul) Mishurda. He also leaves behind three intensely grieving granddaughters: Alexis (Nick) Floss, Gabrielle Vranka and Myah (Locker) Caruso, as well as four great-grandchildren.
He will forever truly be missed by all that knew him and our only solace is knowing we will see him again someday. Semper Fi. Visitation will be at Baker Hazel Snider Funeral Home on Sunday, August 19th from 2 pm to 4 pm, with a service from 4 pm to 5 pm, where his family can share their stories about this amazingly accomplished man. Monday, August 20th there will be a private burial at the VA National Cemetery in Dayton. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to offset the funeral costs. Donations may be given directly to the funeral home via phone or in person at the funeral. There will be a get together following the service on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the VFW Branch #7741 located at 7921 N. Main St., 5 minutes north of the funeral home. There will be a cash bar.
