MANTIA, HELEN L. of Dayton, age 97 passed away Sunday August 5, 2018. Helen was born on October 31, 1920 in El Reno, OK to the late Louis and Minnie Kanelis. She was a long-time volunteer at Samaritan North and enjoyed many hours with friends at the Earl Heck Community Center in Englewood.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles and her sister Paula.

Helen is survived by her children Mary Joanne (Jeff) Pilch, Charles (Peggy), John (Julie), Patricia (Scott) Rabinowitz, Anthony (Michele), Doug (Brenda); grandchildren Justin, Samantha, Charles Jr., Ashlee, Ian, Ryan, Chloe, Dominic, Daniele, Christina, Doug Jr., Nicholas and numerous great-grandchildren; sister Patsy (Jack) Huntress; dear friend Doris Piper and many other loving family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at St. Rita Catholic Church 5401 N Main St. Dayton OH 45415. The family will receive friends 6-8PM Friday at Baker Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. Dayton OH 45415. Burial held at Calvary Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at Cypress Point Healthcare campus for the kindness and care they provided during her stay. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Helen's memory to the Senior Citizen's Club, Earl Heck Community Center in Englewood, OH.
