Obituary for Richard Charles "Dick" Moosbrugger Jr.

MOOSBRUGGER, Richard Charles “Dick” Jr., 71, of Monroe, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was born on November 29, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio. He was a son to Richard C. Moosbrugger, Sr. and Frances Withrow Moosbrugger. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard, and his wife Teresita “Tess” Deboma Moosbrugger. Dick married Tess on April 25, 1969. They resided in Celina, Ohio for 40 years before retiring to North Carolina. While residing in Celina, Dick worked at New Idea and Parker Hannifin. Dick was known to be a man of few words but would do anything for anybody. His wife and boys were the most important thing in life. Dick was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. After moving to North Carolina, he attended St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Mint Hill, NC. Dick followed his father’s footsteps into the United States Marine Corps, Semper Fi! He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning to the States, he enlisted in the Air Force reserves. After 20 years of service, he retired from his military career. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Dick took on the task of being his wife’s caregiver as she suffered through her battle with Alzheimer’s. He did this with compassion and love while living up to his promise to her family in the Philippines to take care of her to the very end. He is survived by his mother Frances, 93 years young. Children Richard Charles Moosbrugger, III “Rick” and wife Heather, Robert Francis Moosbrugger “Bob” and wife Esther, David John Moosbrugger and wife Trish; step-daughter Maria Hope Jackson and husband Ainsworth Jackson Sr., grandchildren Ainsworth Jr., Adonis, Zach, Jake, Landon, Duncan, Sterling, Andrew, Vincent, Kai, Brooks; and great-granddaughter Lorelai; brother Mark Moosbrugger and wife Kathy; sister Becky Lingmann and husband Michael and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Baker-Hazel Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Drive, Dayton, OH 45415. Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Baker-Hazel Snider Funeral Home. Following the service, the burial will be at Dayton Veterans Cemetery with military honors paid for his service to our country.
