HEIDENREICH, Mary Ann (nee King) “MAK”, 79 of Butler Twp., passed away peacefully in her devoted husband’s arms on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. A native Daytonian, devout Catholic, and faithful wife of William Frederick “Bill”, Mary Ann has joined her parents Stephen D. and Ann I. (nee McCarthy) King; in-laws Ollie and Crescentia (nee Hilgeford); her younger brother, Stephen D. King II, and his wife Bridget King (nee O’Reilly); and Bill’s brother, Robert Heidenreich. She is survived by Bill and their children (spouses): Greg (Hope) and their children: Kiara, Kenny, Lacy, and Kris; Mary Jo and her son: Jonathon; Amy and her children: Marcella and Lucas; and Matthew (Tara) and their children: Mia and Ava; as well as Bill’s sister Sharon Fitzpatrick (Bill) and Robert’s wife, Madonna (nee Fairchild). Few can compare her love for her nieces and nephews: Christopher, Gretchen, Erich, Craig, Gabrielle, Karen, Tony, Billy, Stacy, Eric and Molly. Mary Ann was fortunate enough to spend time over the past two years with her first and only great granddaughter, Jon’s daughter: Emilia. Mary Ann attended Corpus Christi through the 8th grade and then Julienne High School. She studied at both the University of Dayton and Sinclair Community College. Well known to all of Dayton for the appearance of her craft each Sunday in the Journal-Hearld, Mary Ann wrote like no other. Poignant, comical, touching, her writing spanned years with the paper and a lifetime of countless letters and poems for any given occasion. Mary Ann and Bill married February 20, 1960, and began their own company, MakGregor Management, in 1984, and with Matt’s help they grew it into their livelihood. She was a thespian at Corpus Christi Church, penning her own play and acting alongside her brother Steve. She continued her theatrical endeavors as a play/musical director at Vandalia Butler High School where she coached students alongside John Kuhns. Her status in the world of public speaking lent to many appearances at women’s seminars and school functions throughout her life. Friends and loved ones are welcome to say goodbye to Mary on Sunday, July 8th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday, July 9th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider taking Bill out for a few beers.
