Obituary for Tim Kauffman

Tim Kauffman passed away at the age of 52 in Dayton Ohio on June 30th surrounded by his loved ones.

Surviving family members are his loving wife Nancy (Richardson), his sons Matthew, Nicholas and Jackson and their mother Deb Harris; his father Charles Kauffman (Peggy) and greeted in heaven by his mother Ardice (Yoder). Also survived by Nancy’s children Justin, Joshua, Jenna, their spouses and 5 grandchildren that adored him; his siblings: Patti Adair (Robert), Rick Kauffman (Pam), Michael Kauffman (Diana), Boonlum Singharat (Nang), Laneé Johnson (Bill) and Chuck Kauffman (Gretchen); also had many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

Tim was born the youngest child of Charles and Ardice Kauffman. He was born in Beavercreek Ohio, living his first years on Kemp Rd. He attended Dayton Christian School and graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1984. Married at a young age, he welcomed three sons into this world. He was a great father and mentor to his sons and anyone who showed up at his house. Many of his son’s friends looked to Tim as their father and mentor.

He held many different jobs; drafting, construction, garage door installation, LaRosas delivery supervisor. It is thought that his favorite job was a pizza delivery guy, where he would turn on his people skills and get paid for it. His love for motorcycles was a shared passion, taking trips together with brothers and sons.

Born the youngest of 6 children, Tim was everyone’s favorite. It’s easy to see how being the “favorite” was also evident in his adult life. It was impossible to not be captivated by his infectious smile. He never missed an opportunity to welcome everyone into his home or initiate a gathering with friends. He was reacquainted with a friend, Nancy Richardson, whom he had known from attending Dayton Christian School together. His contagious smile, laugh and positive attitude where attributes that attracted her to Tim. They married New Year’s Eve 2017, which was appropriate for the level of celebration they had for each other.

When he was diagnosed with cancer in October 2017, his best friend Bill Thurman and wife Angie were there to respond with love and dedication to supporting Tim and Nancy as they walked this journey together. His church family at SouthBrook was there praying for him and lifting him up. If you were ever around him during this time, you would know that his faith in God was what carried and strengthened him. Knowing all these things about Tim is important, but the most important thing to know is that he had a personal relationship with Christ and he is now sitting at the feet of his Savior.
