High school fun!

Naturally, my story has to be humorous!  We're talking 1964.....Our weekly Catholic Youth Organization dance held every Friday night downtown at the Loretto building was a major time to look forward to.  The girls would come to my house and get ready for this exciting night.  "Ratting" our hair, spraying it with Just Wonderful hairspray till it was like a football helmet and sticky as cotton candy, then, of course, getting dressed 'appropriately'.  Nancy had this cute 'wrap-around' skirt and a matching top.  We all looked adorable!  We missed the #7 bus, so my sister, Susan agreed to shuttle us downtown in her 1960 Tempest.  We were stuffed inside, laughing all the way!  We arrived and Nancy was the first one to exit the car. All of a sudden her 'wrap-around' skirt was lying at the curb!!  Now, of course, she had a slip on and was still 'covered'.  First, being embarrassed, then picking it up, she started 'cracking up'.  We were all laughing so hard and looking for safety pins in our purses.  Well, all I remember is that we fixed the skirt issue and had another 'dreamy' night at our weekly dance!  Love you Nance!       ........Frankie
