Obituary for Helen LaVielle

LaVielle, Helen (DeBrosse) age 92 of Friendship Village passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was born on May 22, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio to Urban and Laura DeBrosse. Helen was the first of 8 children and was preceded in death by her husband Charles and son Mark, her parents, sisters Ruth, Jeanette and Lucille, and a brother Carl. Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved living life to the fullest.She had a great mind and taught us all so much. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and involved with their small group. Helen is survived by her daughters: Lynn Rogers and Carol (Willie) Hampton. Sons: Bruce (Keena), Tom (Jeri), John (Donna), and a daughter-in-law, Laura Benson. Grandchildren; Corinne (Shawn), Jill (Scott), Ryan (Heather), Lance (Kathleen), Erin (Jason), Sean, Chris, Haley, Sam, and Peyton as well as 6 great-grandchildren She is also survived by sisters Rita (Fritz) Ostdiek, Adele Cooley, Evelyn (Don) August, sister-in-law Betty DeBrosse and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24th from 3pm-6pm at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 26th at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 220 W. Siebenthaler Ave. Dayton, OH at 10am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
