Obituary for Richard E. Gray Sr.

GRAY, Richard E. Sr. age 74 of Dayton, died Saturday, February 3, 2018. He was born Jan. 13, 1944 to the late Samuel and Willie Gray. Richard graduated from Dunbar High School and he retired from Delco, a division of General Motors, and enjoyed training and showing dogs. Preceded in death by 4 brothers Samuel Carr, Robert, William and James Gray and 2 sisters Ann Lee and Alice Wortham. He is survived by a daughter Karleia (William) Etchison, 4 sons, Richard Jr. (Pasha) Gray, Juan Gray, Creighton Carter, Anthony Banks, 2 step-daughters Felicia Dixon, LaShun Davis, 2 sisters Margaret Turner and Freida Gray, 11 grandchildren, Ke-Ani Gray, Ariane Gray, Richard Gray III, Ryan Gray, Juan Gray Jr., JuRaun Gray, Rodeia Garrett, Rod-Karleia Garrett, Essence Garrett, Guillermo Etchison, Ziann Gray, very special thanks to nieces Darlinda Turner and Carlene Gray, mother’s of his children Jacqueline and Patricia Gray, and a host of other nieces, and nephews, family and friends. Services 1 p.m. Saturday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. by Rev. Andrew Brewster. Interment Shiloh Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until time of services. Special thanks to Bella Hospice for their love and care.
