Obituary for Ivan O'Neal Smith

SMITH, Ivan O., “Neal” age 64 of Vandalia, died suddenly Monday, January 29, 2018 after a brief illness. Ivan graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1972 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from General Motors. He was a member of Solar Lodge # 730 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and Antioch Shrine. Ivan was a member of the Vandalia American Legion Post # 668. Preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Louise Smith. Survived by son Craig Smith of W. Milton, daughter Kandice Smith, granddaughter Ashley Smith. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Antioch Shrine Foundation or the Shrine Hospitals for Children in Ivan’s memory.
