Obituary for James Gray

James  Gray
Mr. James (Bojack) Gray, age 75 passed away Thursday December 14, 2017.
He was born on September 3, 1942 in Dayton, OH to the late Samuel and Willie Mae (Brown) Gray.
He worked as a Pressman for McCalls (Dayton Press) of Dayton until their closure. After his early retirement he was able to pursue what he called his “God given talent” of expressing himself through the hundreds of works of art that he created. He was a member of the National Conference of Artists (Dayton Chapter). His artwork has been displayed at Colleges and Universities, Cultural festivals and National Arts Programs in the Dayton area. He was said to be the only artist in the area expressing himself almost exclusively through wood.
He is preceded in death by his wife Parthenia (Martin) Gray. Brothers: William (Billy) Gray, Robert (Bobby) Gray and Samuel (Damu) Carr. Sisters: Ann Lee and Alice Wortham and special friends: Thomas and Ruth Chisholm.
He is survived by his 4 loving children Delona Gray, Robbin Lewis, James Jr and Jeffrey Gray. Sisters: Margaret (Claude) Turner and Frieda Gray. Brother Richard Gray and Companion of many years Valjean Harris.
10 grand children: Jason Gray, Earnest Hill, Ashley Hill Justin Hill, Jamaine Gray, Parthenia(Pat) Gray, Desombra Gray, Dominique Gray, Tabitha Zeanda (Carbone) and Shawn Lewis. 15 Great- grand children and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held 3PM Saturday December 23, 2017 at Baker Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. Dayton OH 45415.
