DINNEEN, Sara Ann (GAST), 89, went to be with the Lord peacefully December 9 at her home. She was the eighth child born to Sarah and Charles Gast. On November 6, 1948 she married her high school sweetheart Dick, who preceded her in death September 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by seven siblings. Sara is survived by three devoted children and their spouses: Will (Peter), Dave (Cindy), Sara Hallstein (Duane); grandchildren Jennifer (Alan), Nathan (Christine), Theresa (Jesse), SaraRae; ten great grandchildren and her brother-in-law, Bob (Nancy).
Sara graduated from Fairview HS in 1946. She was an active member of Fairview UMC and a member of Sigma Beta, Alpha Gamma Chapter for 70 years. She retired as an Administrative Assistant from Dayton Public Schools and was a Mary Kay Consultant for 13 years.
Sara’s great love of life touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her laugh, her hugs, her love, compassion, and generous spirit. She will be missed greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 16 at Fairview UMC, 828 W. Fairview Ave. Visitation from 11:00-12:45; Memorial Service will begin at 1 with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrance gifts may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital of Crossroads Hospice.
