George Kidwell, 76, of Dayton, OH passed away August 3, 2017. George was a proud manager of Gem roofing company and also very active in playing and coaching softball. Most of all, George was a loving father, uncle, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Emerson Kidwell; mother Josephine (Travis) Kidwell; sisters Pauline Josephine Kidwell, Goldie Mae (Kidwell) Lay, Paula Jo (Kidwell) Brown, and Roberta Camille (Kidwell) Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Sandra Jean (Thompson) Kidwell; daughter Leah Ann Kidwell-Fernandes; son-in-law Chris Soon Tan Fernandes; grandson Noah Hoon Sing Fernandes; brothers Ronald Kidwell and Kenneth Paul Kidwell; sisters Carol Ann (Kidwell) Gay and Rosemary (Kidwell) Hatfield; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A public visitation will be held Tuesday, August 8 from 4-7pm at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home. A service will be held at the Covenant at Sugar Grove Church on Wednesday, August 9 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, The Voice of the Martyrs, or the Dayton VA Hospice.
