Leland J. (Lee or LeRoy) Federico
Age 86, died, Friday, March 31, 2017. He was born March 16, 1931. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ernest & Marie Fredricks of Richmond, IN and Tomania Tyner of Anderson, IN.
He was a US Navy Veteran who served as a cook aboard the U.S.S. Mansfield during the Korean War.
When LeRoy returned home from military service in 1955, he began working with his Uncle Joe at DiFederico’s Lampost, New Paris, OH. He became a bartender, cook, waiter, host, manager, or just whatever was needed. He was there until 1972 when he was given the opportunity to pursue his real life’s passion: GOLF.
Lee became a member of the PGA of America in early 1973 and was a Golf Pro for several Midwest courses until his retirement from the Miami Valley Golf Club in 1996.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lacey Rivers of Safety Harbor, FL.
He is survived by his brother Dan Fredricks of Loretto PA; son Joe (Jennifer) DiFederico of Kouts, IN; daughters: Gina DiFederico of Safety Harbor, FL, Toni (Jennifer) Federico of Tampa, FL, LeAnn (Jeff) Krintzline of Eaton, OH; grandsons: Austin Clark of Tampa, FL, Angelus DiFederico and August DiFederico of Fort Wayne, IN; great granddaughter Isabella Beach of Safety Harbor, FL.
The family will be holding a private service at a later date.
