Obituary for Patrick J. "Pat" Newlin

NEWLIN, Patrick J., “Pat”, age 61 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away Christmas morning, Friday, December 25, 2015 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his family after a ten month hard fought battle with cancer. Pat was a graduate of Chaminade High School class of 1973. Pat was an “electrician” by trade, and retired in 2009. He was an active member of the Irish club, volunteered for Habitat of Humanity, and supported Randall House, a group home for adults with disabilities. He loved boating with family and most of all fishing. He also loved history and was a great story teller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Theresa Newlin, and in laws Louis and Alice Kraska. Pat is survived by his loving family, wife Marie of 33 years, daughters Kristine and Meghan who he loved dearly. Brothers, Jim (Carol), Bill(Cindy), Dick (Doris), Denny (Gina), and sister, Sheila, in-laws Mike (Pam), Julie, Tom (Cheri), Frank (Debbie), Lisa ( Alan) and a “boat load” of nieces and nephews that meant the world to him and a host of dear friends that are too many to mention by name. In remembrance of Pat, tell a story, laugh a lot, and most of all love with all your heart, as Pat did. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia by Father Frank Keferl. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N.
